What Have You Done For Me Lately?

I know it's been a while, but I'm back. What have you done for your heart lately? With V-Day upon us, heart health is an appropriate topic. The heart is a muscle and like any muscle, the more you work it, the harder you work it, the stronger it gets.
The heart is strengthened by challenging it with exercise. I know many of us challenge our hearts with some of the garbage we eat but I'm speaking of the good challenge. I'm often teased for the relatively short time period I'm in the gym. Hours upon hours of my life have been spent in the gym while in college and frankly my life just doesn't allow for it anymore. I have adopted a variety of "burst training" regimens mixed in with crossfit and there you have it, daily routines in 30 minutes or less. These get the heart racing in a hurry, training like this is a combination of power and cardio training.

The Challenge
An in-home workout

100 Air Squats
100 Push-ups
100 Situps
50 Burpees (some call them squat thrust)

The Gift
(from Chef Tina Jo)

1 Cup Almond Milk
2 pitted Dates
2 Tbsp Raw Cacao Powder
1 Frozen Banana
2 Tbsp Almond Butter
Drop all the ingredients into the blender and blend until smooth.
